If I could do this all day I’d be so happy! Sounds of life bounce around the atmosphere. Cool breezes saunter through open windows. Aromas of freshly cut grass, roses (my absolute favorite) and peonies tickle my nostrils.
Inside, I see signs of life and family as I peer over at my daughters’ homeschool work. As I glance at the piano and the sign above, “Enter His courts with praise,” my heart is filled as I can hear my daughter offering up her sacrifices of praise unto her King.
My other daughter will often come sit at the fireplace in the morning and talk with me as she wakes up. At night, this is often a gathering place for casual and sometimes deep conversation with my children.
But most of all, this is where I sit quietly with my Lord as He purifies my heart and showers me with His extravagant love. Every breeze that crosses my skin is like a kiss from my long-awaited Bride Groom. Every leaf I see dancing around confirms His presence, His power, His majesty.
He is here. He is with me. He loves me. He loves me well.
Better is one day in Your courts than thousands elsewhere.
Please never stop sitting with me. Please, continue to purify my heart and call me up higher. Please, continue showering me with your lavish affection.
You are all I need. You are the air I breathe. You are the song on my tongue. You are the dance in my step. You are the laughter in my heart. You are my all in all! I love You!
